Selling Dead People’s Things by Duane Scott Cerny
Selling Dead People’s Things - Duane Scott Cerny

Ok I picked this book by its cover. Not a good move this time. The cover picture had nothing to do really with the text inside of the cover. The book was ok for what it is about. But at time is was disjointed and it seemed like Duane Cerny rambled on. Chapter 3 really made little since to me other then the fact that he would of loved there to have been a yard sale after the deaths of the sister but there was not, so why have a whole chapter on it.

The book  is about Duane Scott Cerny's love of vintage, antiques, and thift stores. I love all 3 things as well. He is a collector and seller of as the book is named Dead People's Things.  His love for vintage started as a child, on his front porch buying, selling, and trading his friends old cast off toys. The book follows him from Childhood to adulthood and his life long hobby and career in the 2nd hand business.

Rosecliff Manor Haunting by Cheryl Bradshaw
Rosecliff Manor Haunting (Addison Lockhart Book 2) - Cheryl Bradshaw

Rosecliff Manor Haunting is book 2 in the Addison Lockhart series by Cheryl Bradshaw. I have not read book 1 but will be very soon. I had no problems understanding book without reading book 1. There were references to things that happened in book 1 but there was also a very short explanation that brought me up to speed.

Cheryl Bradshaw really drug me in on page one and left me wanting book 3. The book is short and I finished it in one afternoon. There were no rushed feelings to the book, it was a very complete and thrilling story, even though it was short.

In the book Addison Lockhart has a dream of 2 twin girls. She feels they are dead. Now it is up to her to find out what really happened the night of their deaths. Was it an accident as the Police investigtion concluded or was this really a murder.

Charleston by Quentin Bell And Virginia Nicholson
Charleston: A Bloomsbury House and Garden - Quentin Bell, Virginia Nicholson, Alen MacWeeney

This beautiful book features the Charleston House and Gardens in Sussex. The house belonged to Vanessa Bell, the sister of Virginia Woolf . The book was written by Quentin Bell the nephew of Vanessa And Virginia Nicholson, Quentin's Daughter.

The book is filled with pictures of each room, paintings, a blueprint of the house and garden. But the best art is reading Quentin's true life accounts of life in the house. He has stories about happenings in each room of the house. The house also features the Bloomsbury decorative style.

The book was beautiful to flip through and very interesting to read. I would love to visit this house some day. The house is open to tours.

Countertop Gardens by Shelley Levis
Countertop Gardens: Easily Grow Kitchen Edibles Indoors for Year-Round Enjoyment - Shelley Levis

I have been growing plants all my life. I lived on a farm as a child and our veggies came from a garden. I was thrilled to be given  copy of this book through NetGalley. I honestly have to say that this book makes countertop gardening look a bit harder then it really is. It is a great book for tips and tricks don't get me wrong. I love how the author shows several ways of making pots, and waterers out of things you think are garbage. I love the space saving tips as well. There is a ton of useful information in this book, but I do feel that it is very intimidating to the beginner.

Justice Howard's Voodoo Conjure and Sacrifice by Justice Howard, Writings by Voodoo Queen Bloody Mary
Justice Howard's Voodoo: Conjure and Sacrifice - Justice Howard

Have you ever wanted to know more about Voodoo? I mean the real Voodoo, not the Hollywood version? This book takes you on a journey so to speak through the world of Voodoo and its practitioners. Hollywood usually gives Voodoo a bad name, when in actuality it is a religion. It is thought to be the oldest religion. Voodoo was born in Ancient Africa and came across the world during the Slave trading days.

This book is also not just a journey through the written word. The book is filled with photo's. Yes some have full frontal female nudity, some have severed animal heads, and snakes lots of snakes. The nudity is not done in a Playboy manor, it is beauty, it is Voodoo.

There is so much to learn from this book about Voodoo. Justice Howard has done an amazing job along with Bloody Mary, a Voodoo Queen in New Orleans. Between the stories, legends, explanations, and pictures you get the true meaning of Voodoo. This book is a basic version of Voodoo but it gives you enough to know the true meaning of this religion.

Power to the Princess by Vita Weinstein Murrow
Power to the Princess - Vita Weinstein Murrow

This is a anthology of 15 fair tails rewritten for today's girls. The stories are retold with Girl Power!!!

In this version Sleeping Beauty is a specialist on sleeping disorders, Rapunzel is a world-famous architect, The Little Mermaid is a advocate for peace between mer-people and humans, and all the other favorites are here to in their new jobs.

The kids and I enjoyed the new versions of the old tales. The book focuses on building up girls instead of leaving them locked in a  tower and a man coming long and rescuing them. The new Princesses in this book seeks to help others, is open to learning new things, and looks for ways to add purpose to their lives and the lives of those around them.

This book is written very well and teaches girls they can be and do anything.

Poor little Rusty the Squeaky Robot. Rust is very sad. With every move he makes he squeaks. The other robots try to show Rusty how being different is good. All of the robots make a song using their own unique noise as the music to show the good thing about being different.

Pluto Is Peeved: An ex-planet searches for answers - Jacqueline Jules

Pluto is Peeved is a cute comic book style picture book. Pluto used to be the 9th Planet in our Solar System but has been demoted and he wants to know why. Pluto takes a trip through the museum to find out why he was demoted. On his journey he meets other exhibits from the largest to the smallest to find out why he was demoted. What he does learn is what all Scientists are interested in and learns that he himself is just one of those things.

Cute interesting and educational book. The book has really great comic book style illustrations. This book is great for kids, but even adults could use this book for learning how to draw. I am not at all an artist.
